Dilip saves Neeta when her horse veers off control. A friendship develops between the two and when her father passes away she makes him a partner in the family business that she inherits. Very soon Dilip falls in love with her. However, it turns out that Neeta is in love with and engaged to Rajan. She marries him once he returns from abroad. When Dilip declares his love for her on her wedding night, she tells him that she has always looked upon him as a friend and nothing more. Rajan soon begins to suspect Neeta of infidelity. Brahmhdutt (Dilip Kumar), Premchand (Shafi Inamdar) and Mushtaq Ali Khan (Anupam Kher) have been the closest of friends. Against his wishes, Brahmhdutt's daughter Sonu marries a poor man Indrajeet Sabharwal, who is already married to Radhika and has a son Vijay, from the latter. Vijay takes off from home and grows up to be a dreaded Don in the city (Govinda). Indrajeet is given the post of a manager in a steel factory owned by Brahmhdutt and Premchand. Indrajeet first exterminates Premchand and indicts Brahmhdutt for the murder. Brahmhdutt is packed off to prison. Indrajeet now takes charge of Brahmhdutt's business empire and throws the latter's wife Sujata on to the streets. Not satisfied with the ill-gotten wealth, Indrajeet now wants to marry Premchand's only daughter and legal heiress Mohini (Madhuri Dixit) in order to usurp more wealth, but when she spurns him, he hires Vijay to wipe out her existence, little knowing that they are in love with each other. Brahmhdutt, in the meantime, completes his term in jail and on release sets about to reform Vijay. Vijay joins hands with Brahmhdutt and together, they begin a battle for supreme righteousness and avenge the crimes committed by Indrajeet. more»

Peter D'Souza lives in a small town in India. He is an idealistic and honest young man and wants to serve his country by joining the army. He enlists himself and soon undergoes vigorous training under the hands of Major Chauhan (Nana Patekar). After the training, Peter and a group of commandos are assigned to combat terrorists who have hijacked a bus full of passengers. The commandos daringly rescue the passengers, however, Peter is gravely wounded and loses his leg. He is honorably discharged from the army and goes home to help his father run a small corner store. Subsequently, Major Chauhan receives an invitation to attend the marriage of Peter with his long-time girlfriend, Shirley (Madhuri Dixit), which he decides to accept. Upon arrival in the town, Chauhan finds out that marriage is no more happening as Peter is dead. Chauhan is further shocked to find out that Peter's death was a homicide, as enraged gangsters who were unable to extort money from him killed Peter. Bandit, played by Udaykumar kidnaps the pregnant wife of City Cop, K S Ashwath. Cop's wife delivers a baby boy under the Bandit's custody. However, Bandit's wife conceives a baby girl, hands it over to Ashwath. Before dying, she urges Ashwath to bring her daughter, away from her father. Bandit instills in the little boy, that he is Bandit's son and his own mother is his maternal aunt. Cop's son is brought up to be a Bandit, much against his will. Bandit's daughter, though has a chaste upbringing, is always in awe of robbers and thieves, admiring them for their dare-devilry. Due to his first robbery, Son meets his biological father in a fare and has an unexplained attraction towards him. He has to rob jewels from Cop's daughter Jayanthi, but he hesitates to do it. Jayanthi herself offers all the jewels and plays coy, before her father. As the movie proceeds, son, increasingly known as Bettada Kalla is pitted against the father and only one can survive.
