Raja (Daebu Banerji) an orphan and Kajol (Nivedita Tiwari) from a rich family background are students at Dudley College in Mumbai. Raja decides not to participate after Kajol's hesitation, but Kajol's sophisticated father, Ranveer Singh (Shaheed Khan), who also participated during his college days is hyped up about Kajol winning the traditional college gold medal. Raja hadn't been to college for days, leaving very little time for preparation. Kajol gets anxious to make her father happy and finally skips class to find Raja, who is helping his father (Moti Seth) in his restaurant. She manages to find him, convince him and they go on to win the competition. Post the competition, as college breaks for holidays, Raja and Kajol begin to realise the emptiness in each other's life.
