In his quest for a heir, Rai Bahadur has an affair with a prostitute Meher. When Meher becomes pregnant he promises to take the child and educate him. But fate has other plans, for his wife Meena also becomes pregnant at the same time, and shortly thereafter both women give birth to two boys. Meher threatens to expose him if he does not take her son, and leave Meenas son in an orphanage. However, both children end up in his palatial home. He belittles Mehers son and finally accuses him of stealing. Fed up of these accusations, Meena leaves the house with Kishore, and ironically ends up with Meher. In the meantime, Rais son has grown up to be an arrogant, and a champion boxer. And it is in the boxing ring that both half-brothers will meet again -- for a match of their lives -- as the trophy is none other than the beautiful Mala -- who both love and hope to marry.

In India, he meets with a guy name Sahil on road and he takes him to his own college. Seeing his college and their life, Akaash starts remembering his college days. The moment he enters the college where he was in love with a girl name Samaira. Suddenly he looks at a girl who is a professor in their college none other then Samaira. Seeing her as a professor Akaash fallen in love with her but the suspense opens when Akaash tells Samaira that he is married and working a civil engineer in America. Samaira tells him that whatever the reason he has but he should work in India for the growth and development for the country. Initially, Akaash takes it lightly and did not listen to her but his wife Suzy who is working in San Francisco tells him that he should work for his country not for America. Suddenly on television, Akaash comes to know that few of the meteorites are coming towards earth which will hit northern India. From there he takes the big step to work for for his own country and saves the country from meteorites.

Kunjoonjamma Thomas (Padmini) is a widow living in the village all by herself. People always make fun of her because she is grumpy and depressed due to the deaths of her husband and her only child. Children irritate her by ringing her door bell and running away. One day, her granddaughter Girly (Nadhiya Moidu), who she had never met, visits her. Initially, Kunjoonjamma does not like Girly, but they soon become close to each other. Kunjoonjamma takes down the door bell, saying to Girly that its only purpose was for Girly's return. Now that Girly is with her, she does not need it. Kunjoonjamma's neighbor, Sreekumar (Mohanlal), falls in love with Girly. One day, Sreekumar's friend, Alexi (Fazil), comes to his house and sees Girly. He identifies her as a girl missing from Delhi, and immediately informs her father (K. P. Ummer) about her whereabouts. Girly had run away from Delhi because she had a brain disease and does not have much time to live. She wanted to enjoy the rest of her life. When her father comes to take her back to Delhi for an urgent operation, she refuses to go, claiming that even the doctors are not sure whether the operation will be successful. Her grandmother mixes sleeping pills in soup and gives it to Girly, and her father takes her to Delhi while she is unconscious. The movie ends with the ambulance slowly fading away into the darkness. Sreekumar watches it leave, and when he turns away he sees Kunjoonjamma refixing the doorbell with the hope that Girly will return one day.
