"Balachandran (Mammootty) had resorted to his work after being unable to cope up with the death of his wife, Bhama (Shobhana). During the process, he unintentionally neglects his only son, Appu (Badusha). When Appu returns home from his boarding school during vacation, Balachandran promises him a lot many things, but is unable to fulfill any of them as he is caught up with work. Meanwhile, Appu befriends his carer Meenakshi (Seena Dadi), much to the annoyance of Balachandran. Meenakshi's half-brother Rudran, after realizing that his sister stays with Balachandran (who fired him for the murder of a colleague), forcefully takes her home. Appu becomes disappointed and turn rebellious, which culminates in Balachandran hitting him. He now realize that Bhama's death was tough on his son too. He apologize and promises to bring back Meenakshi. At Meenakshi's house, her brother objects to Balachandran's request of taking her back and he see the way she is mistreated by her brother, leading to a fight between them where Appu gets caught up. The attempt fails and they retreat to their summer house, deciding to let go of the thoughts of Meenakshi. Appu now gets to spend more time with his father as he had always hoped, although he miss Meenakshi. Balachandran notices that Appu's nose is lightly bleeding and take him to his close friend, Dr. Gopan (Suresh Gopi). Gopan find a serious internal haemorrhage in Appu's head, the cause of which remains a mystery. He informs that an urgent surgery is their only hope and his Professor, a famous neurosurgeon had been called from Mumbai for the surgery. The unresolved cause of the bleeding puzzle the doctors. Balachandran soon recollects the fight and recall Rudran being the one responsible for Appu's condition. Enraged by the thought, he rush to seek revenge, but is stopped by Gopan by shouting that if he really loves his son, stay with him till the operation, take care of him and pray for him. The depth of his ignorance to his son, now becomes even more clear to him. Realizing that this was probably the only time left with his son, he take him out as he had promised, to fulfill Appu's wish, on the eve of the scheduled operation. He even prays hoping that God would have pity upon him. Their journey takes them to Meenakshi's house, who is to be married against her wishes. Another fight happens between the two and he manage to free Meenakshi from her abusive brother. He take her with them for one final trip where Appu (moderately under sedation) hallucinates his mother approaching him to take him to the other side. However, when Bhama notices Balachandran and Meenakshi together, she realizes that it is their chance to start a new family and walks away, implying the likelihood of Appu's survival." more»

Small time criminal, Mahi (Mammootty) gets released from prison early. He has a reputation of beating up his rivals in the darkness. Mahi wants to help fellow inmate Balan's (Manoj K. Jayan) whose brother Satheesh (Manikuttan) is in need of money for a life saving operation. A fellow crook, Giri (Suraj Venjaramood) proposes an assignment for Mahi which will earn him enough money for the operation. Thottappally Surendran (Vijayaraghavan) plans to murder Sivasankaran Pillai (Saikumar) to settle an old score. Sivasankaran is serving life sentence for killing Surendran's father and is due to be released on short term parole. As part of a master plot, Surendran wants another man to accept the criminal charge and punishment.Mahi takes up the assignment and sets off to the island village along with Giri. During the boat service to the village, they meet Indu (Gopika), the caretaker of Sivasankaran. During the trip, Indu gets harassed by Thottappally Sugunan (Santhosh Jogi), Surendran's brother. Mahi saves Indu with a single kick at Sugunan from the back which causes the boat to sink. Mahi saves the unconscious Indu from drowning Indu and flees the scene immediately. On meeting Surendran, Mahi agrees to the task for Rs 8,00,000. Mahi and Giri are instructed to hang around the fishing village till Sivasankaran arrives on parole. Kannan Srank, a henchman of Surendran acts as their local contact.On Surendran's instruction, Kannan Srank plots to defame Indu by accusing her of having an affair with Mahi. Indu loses her job at the harbour. Aaranaimuttom Devaki (K. P. A. C. Lalitha) saves Indu from further embarrassment. Mahi and Indu get to know each other. Mahi realizes that Indu's younger sister Ammu(Nimisha Suresh) is Sathessh's girlfriend. Sugunan tries to frame Ammu in a fraud charge. Mahi beats Sugunan up with an under water attack. He does the same with Surendran spraying chilli powder. Both of them do not get a clue who was the attacker.The villagers speculate about a "Mayavi" (magician) behind the attack. Kannan Srank's bogus claims of knowing Mayavi add further fuel for the speculations. Mahi in pretense of Mayavi uses Kannan Srank to prove the innocence of both Ammu and Indu and exposes Thottappally brothers. Indu joins back the job at the harbour. Mahi through Kannan Srank also offers protection for Sivasankaran in exchange for medical expenses for Satheesh. Kannan Srank go further on behalf by plotting a story in which Mayavi is in love with Indu.Sivasankaran arrives at the village knowing all about the plot to kill him. He commands Mahi and Giri to leave immediately. In the hospital meeting Satheesh, Sivasankaran mistakes Balan as Mayavi. Balan turns out to be a crook and he decides to play along even with out knowing the entire story. Indu refuses to believe that Balan is Mayavi. Yatheendran (Keerikkadan Jose), another convict identifies Mahi as Mayavi and Thottappally brothers entrusts Yatheendran to kill Mahi. Mahi beats up Yatheendran and Thottappally brothers and spoils the plot to kill Sivasankaran. Sivasankaran, however still believes Balan is Mayavi and decides to fix Indu's wedding with Balan and make Balan a partner in his businesses. more»

Raja (Chiranjeevi) goes to town for higher studies with the donation of people living in a tribal village. He returns to his village after the studies. He then finds the sufferings of his people and how they are cheated by local heads (Rao Gopal Rao and Mohanbabu). He then fills confidence in his men and tells them that they should face these illegal in the court of law. But this duo makes the villagers fools and Raja's attempts goes in vain. Few villagers get hurt by this act suicide as they have no other option and the blame is on Raja as he has forced them. Sametime Raja is selected for IAS but he rejects it and decides to fight against the villains and changes to a Robinhood avatar and names himself as Kondaveti Donga. He punishes the illegal and stands by the villagers thus all his folk starts admiring him. Trouble starts when the villains start doing mischief in the name of him. Vijayasanthi is an inspector comes to his place to catch hold of him. Radha her sister, working as a doctor knows his true identity and starts loving him. Venugopal (Mammootty), a rich young businessman still considers Shivan as his mentor, who had helped him in his early days in Mumbai. At the time of his death, Shivan has asked Venu to take care of his younger brother Rajashekharan (Suresh Gopi), which Venu obeyed wholeheartedly. Rajan was appointed as his manager and is treated more like his brother. On a visit to Rajan's house along with him, Venu meets Devi (Rupini). Venu expresses Rajan's sister about his wish to marry Devi but changes his mind after realizing that she is already engaged to Rajan. Venu wholeheartedly gets Rajan married to Devi. Rajan, in thirst to earn quick money, gets into bad company and severs ties with Venu. He becomes suspicious of his wife having an illicit relation with Venu.
