Raja (Daebu Banerji) an orphan and Kajol (Nivedita Tiwari) from a rich family background are students at Dudley College in Mumbai. The college is heading towards the summer break and the Principal, Mr. Bhatia (Jalees Sherwani), announces the popular annual dancing and singing competition by selecting male and female students through a number matching system. Incidentally, Raja and Kajol's numbers are paired for the performance but Kajol hesitates. Raja decides not to participate after Kajol's hesitation, but Kajol's sophisticated father, Ranveer Singh (Shaheed Khan), who also participated during his college days is hyped up about Kajol winning the traditional college gold medal. Raja hadn't been to college for days, leaving very little time for preparation. Kajol gets anxious to make her father happy and finally skips class to find Raja, who is helping his father (Moti Seth) in his restaurant. She manages to find him, convince him and they go on to win the competition. Post the competition, as college breaks for holidays, Raja and Kajol begin to realise the emptiness in each other's life. It's Rocking - Dard-E-Disco is the story of two fun-loving brothers. Rambo (Aryeman Ramsay), and Rocky (Akshay Kapoor), who dream of opening their own discotheque like the happing Dard-E-Disco, owned by disco king DK (Bappi Lahiri). They try to touch base with DK but his secretary, Johny (Asrani), will not let them enter the discotheque without an invitee pass. The two brothers get lucky one day and meet DK who entertains them in his discotheque and even asks them to come over to his office. However, their attempt to meet DK in his office fails as Johny won't allow them. Meanwhile, Powderbhai (Shakti Kapoor) who is constantly trying to sell drugs in Dard-E-Disco keeps meeting with failure as DK won't allow the sale of drugs. Darshall Lall is a gangster with many political connections. And it is for this reason that no police officer has dared to arrest Lall or any of his men. But when Public Prosecutor, Janki Rai's rickshaw-driver husband, Raghunath Prasad Rai, witnesses Lall's son, Surendra Pal, kill Ram Mohan Tripathi, Lall's son is arrested and brought before the court. Lall's offer to bribe Janki are in vain, and as a result Surendra is convicted and sentenced to die. Lall swears to break up the Rai to avenge the death of his son, and finds out that Raghunath could be brought with money, and he induces him as such, and inducts him in a life of crime. Money and an easy life corrupt Raghunath and he takes to coming home late, and drinking alcohol. One day Raghunath is arrested by the police and held for a court hearing. During that night Lall arranges his escape, however, Raghunath's car meets with an accident, and he dies, leaving Janki widowed and to single-handedly bring up Raghunath's younger brother, Sunil. She ensures Sunil gets a good education and after several years he becomes a police officer. His superiors are impressed with his performance and assign him a special case of stopping smuggling activities, which Sunil accepts with great pride.
